The “Grupo Alafia” was born in the summer of 2008 as an idea of Francesco Scalvenzi and Marcello Magnani. The first goal of the group has always been to create something extremely original and alternative for the salsa audience, taking inspiration from Francesco’s creativity and musical knowledge. The summer of 2010 was a turning point for Italian kids: the show “Mi Pachanga” received international recognition from a standing ovation at the New York Salsa Congress on the night of September 5, 2010. Since then, Grupo Alafia has been invited to participate in the most important dance congresses in Europe and around the world (over 30 different countries) The team has achieved tremendous success, not least for its fun and truly effective teaching technique.
